According to UNICEF there are over 143 Million Orphans and 400 Million vulnerable children in the world. If they were a country, Orphans would be the 8th largest country in the world – larger than Russia.
A child dies every 5.2 seconds, 11 every minute, 692 every hour, 6 million every year.
Every 2.2 seconds an orphan ages out of the governmental system and is sent on their way with little or no schooling or training.
In Russia, 10-15% commit suicide by age 18
60% of the girls become prostitutes
70% of the boys become hardened criminals
In the US, there are 520,000 kids in foster care, and 120,000 are immediately adoptable.
In the NY Foster System, 60% of the kids who age out end up homeless.
In Williamson County, 65% of the children in foster care must be housed outside of the county due to a lack of willing foster homes.
Does the Church of Jesus Christ have an answer to 143 Million Orphans?
It has the ONLY answer. Christ in YOU.
There are 2.1 Billion Christians in the world. If just 1 in 8 professed Christians would commit to care for an orphan, every orphan could be cared for worldwide.
Grace 1:27 is the Orphan Care ministry of Grace Chapel , including programs for adoption, adoption funding, orphan care, foster care and mentoring.
God has a big plan for orphan care through His church and through you.
He has no backup plan
