Look of Love
The first of Paul’s epistles, 1 and 2 Thessalonians, overflow the margins with care, encouragement and apostolic delight. In very short order, the Thessalonian congregation had become a crown jewel in the developing first century church. An example of faith and a living deposit of the Holy Spirit’s power, Paul writes of them,“For not only has the Word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything.” What exactly happened at Thessalonica? What made the young church shine like a city on a hill? What lessons – REGARDING relationship,the returning Messiah, and holiness – can we follow, as we also seek to offer Gospel–infused, Christ-honoring love in our own world?
