Frequently Asked Questions

Why do you only meet during first service on Sundays?

HSM only happens in the Barn during first service on Sunday mornings because we believe in the impact that the entire Body of Christ has on the life of a student. Research shows that students who are involved in a traditional youth group setting, frequently attend the main service, and serve in other ministries around the church are more likely to stay involved in a local church once they go off to college or move away from home. 

By only offering one service on Sundays, we are encouraging students to take advantage of the second service time slot to either attend a main service with their family and friends, or to serve in another ministry like our Special Needs Ministry or Kids Ministry.

What does HSM stand for?

High School Ministry (not Musical!)

What can I expect if I come on a Wednesday?

On most Wednesdays, you can expect to be greeted by our small group leaders who will get you checked in and plugged in to a small group of your peers. We will have worship, a short teaching, and small group discussions centered on growing deeper in our love for Jesus and each other.

We also have sporadic game nights and worship nights that are sprinkled throughout the year and they are a blast! 

How do I get connected?

Come on a Sunday or Wednesday, connect on instagram, join a small group on Wednesday night! Reach out to Pastor Dylan for more info!

Does HSM do stuff outside of your normal service times?

Yeah we do! Our small groups regularly hang out with one another outside of church. We also do an annual summer camp and we do a mission trip to the Dominican republic over spring break and Mexico in the summer.

These are great ways to get more connected to high school ministry, encounter the Lord, and grow in community!

Do you actually meet in a Barn?

You better believe it! It’s the coolest space on our property. 

Simply follow the signs once you get on campus. If you hit the river, you've gone too far ☺️

What do Sunday services look like?

Sundays are focused on growing in our faith as disciples of Christ. During first service, we have time for fellowship, worship, and then dig into the Word together. During second service, we have a much smaller group so we typically do a form of Bible study where we get into the Word and discuss how Jesus is inviting us to follow Him.

How can I serve and get involved?

We have a student ministry team that meets monthly. The members of our student ministry team do everything from leading worship, running tech, the coffee bar, greeting and getting new students connected. Wanna know more? Email Pastor Dylan.

Who can come to HSM?

Any high school freshman, sophomore, junior or senior. As well as anyone who signs up to be an adult small group leader!

We believe in teaching the Word of God and equipping students to know who they are, why God put them here, and how to own their faith - all while doing life with a community that loves and welcomes them just as they are.
