Rocky Railway vbs 2020
All aboard! Welcome to Grace Chapel’s Online Rocky Railway Vacation Bible School! This week we’ll be exploring how God’s power can pull us through, and we’ll have mountains of fun learning about Jesus together. Your kids will discover what an amazing journey awaits us when we trust Jesus, and each day will be packed with fun videos, activities, games and songs.
Parents, below you will find each day’s video experience as well as additional digital resources that will enhance your child’s railway adventure.
Our Team is available to help if you need anything this week in order to conduct your very own VBS at home. Reach out to Rachel Bradley with any questions!
We can’t wait to hear what the Lord does in and through each one of you this week!
On Day 1, we’ll discover that Jesus’ power helps us do hard things! Our key verse says, “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13). We’ll learn how God asked Ananias to do a hard thing when He instructed him to go to Saul of Tarsus, who had been persecuting Jesus’ followers just like him. Today’s activities will encourage kids with the truth that God’s power can fortify them through any of life’s challenges.
Our journey on Day 2 will teach us that Jesus’ power gives us hope! Just like a red-winged hawk flies high above its world, we can live victoriously because of God’s promises that make our hearts soar with hope no matter what. Our key verse says, “So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord,” (Psalm 31:24), and we’ll see how Paul did just that when he was a prisoner on board a ship caught in a vicious storm.
Jesus’ power helps us be bold! Day 3 celebrates this amazing truth as we hear how Peter and John told everyone about their Savior and even brought His healing touch to a man desperate for healing. Our key verse says “He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless” (Isaiah 40:29), and kids will consider ways they can be bold for Jesus right where they live.
Day 4 will teach kids that Jesus’ power lets us live forever! As kids reflect on the beginning and end of their journeys on earth, they will experience powerful demonstrations of Jesus’ love and how faith in Him death gives us an eternal future in Heaven with Him. Our key verse will remind kids that they don’t have to be scared of the end of life because, “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you,” (Romans 8:11).
Day 5 teaches kids that Jesus’ power helps us be good friends! Jesus says in our verse today: “Love each other in the same way I have loved you,” (John 15:12). Kids will discover how they can do this in the same way that early Christians in the Book of Acts lived together as friends and celebrated God’s goodness every day. As we get to the end of the Rocky Railway track, we will discuss the qualities good friends possess and how being a good friend shows Jesus to the world around us.
