Our Mission
To follow Jesus, become like Jesus, and live as Jesus lived.
What we believe
In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, in all things charity.
(17th century German Lutheran theologian, Rupertus Meldenius)
God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three distinct persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14
JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father and Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.
Matthew 1:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14, 15; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14,15; Titus 2:13
HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is a Person distinct from the Father and the Son and possessing all of the divine attributes. He exalts Christ, convicts people of sin, enlightens, gifts, and empowers believers and the church in life and godliness.
2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13; 14:16, 17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18
THE BIBLE
The scriptures of the Old and New Testament are inspired by God. Scripture is the supreme and final authority in faith and life. Scripture is useful to believers for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness.
2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 160; 12:6; Proverbs 30:5
PEOPLE
People are made in the image of God and thus endowed with intrinsic value. Therefore, we believe in promoting respect for and protecting the worth and dignity of every individual human being born or unborn. All of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience towards God called “sin.” This attitude separates us from right relationship with God and others.
Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1, 2
MARRIAGE
We believe the only biblical standard for marriage is between one biological man and one biological woman. God created sexual intimacy as a sacred act to be celebrated within the confines of biblical marriage. Sexual relations of any sort outside of biblical marriage is sin.
Genesis 2:24
SALVATION
Salvation is God’s free gift to us, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by good works or self improvement. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can we be saved from sin’s penalty. We are saved when we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8, 9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5
ETERNITY
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven.
John 3:16; John 14:17; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:17-18; Revelation 20:15; 1 Corinthians 2:7-9
meet pastor rob + Misty rogers
At age 19, Rob was a heroin addict teetering on the edge of becoming another overdose statistic when a couple took him in and introduced him to Jesus. After surrendering his life to Christ and being set free from addiction, Rob joined that same couple in co-founding Narrow Gate Foundation, a discipleship ministry in Williamsport, TN. Over the next seventeen years, Rob served in various ministry roles before being named Senior Pastor at Grace Chapel in 2021.
Because of his transformation, Rob is convinced that there is nothing the power of God can’t do in your life. Rob and his wife Misty are so excited to guide the Grace Chapel family to the abundant life offered through a relationship with Jesus. Rob and Misty were married in 2011 and have four kids and two dogs.
