Sundays at 9:00am + 11:00am
It’s time for you to stop feeling guarded, heartbroken, and tired, and instead know that you belong here, your family is taken care of, and you are not alone!
We believe individuals with special needs are integral to the body of Christ
Special Needs Ministry exists to help families be seen, loved, and partnered with as they continue on their unique journeys.
You can be connected in 3 simple steps:
1. Complete a Participant
Profile Form
The form is simple and will give us insight into your participant’s specific needs. While we in no way believe a diagnosis defines a child, we do find it helpful in identifying ways we can accommodate the individual for a fruitful experience. Thanks in advance for helping us in this way!
2. Schedule your first Sunday
We’ll need about 30 minutes to go over the child profile you’ve submitted and ask any questions we might have. We will also tell you and your family more about our ministry, and you can ask questions about how things work as well. The participant with special needs should be present for this meeting.
3. Experience your whole family growing in Christ
We’re passionate about connecting each individual to the best resources for his/her learning needs, exposing each person to the Word of God consistently, and discipling the next generation for Jesus!
Safety is of utmost importance.
All our volunteers are background checked before they begin serving and have agreed to safety policies set forth by Grace Chapel’s leadership. They also agree to maintain their own relationships with Christ in order to help the participants we serve likewise grow in faith. Our staff is very experienced working with individuals with special needs and is committed to training all volunteers in best practices for accommodating participants of all ages.
You are seen and taken care of.
A 1:1 ratio makes all the difference
Our team prioritizes providing an appropriate number of volunteers at each service and every special event so we can make sure all our participants’ needs are met to the best of our abilities.
A dedicated Sensory Room
For participants who are unable to integrate with their peers with a volunteer buddy, we maintain a large, super-fun sensory room so everyone in our ministry has a place to attend church. This room also serves as a place for integrated kids to take a sensory break during services or special events, and we make sure to keep it stocked with up-to-date equipment and sensory-regulating tools.
Volunteers who make a difference
From Sunday morning services, respite nights and other special events, to administrative tasks that need completing during the work week, if you have a heart to get involved we have a place for you on our team!
